Every lesson follows the same four-part structure so you never have to figure out where the useful part is. You already know, before you open it.
A lesson is not an article. It's closer to a worked example in a math textbook: here's the problem, here's the solution, here's the step that mattered.
The 90-second read
A real message, the kind that shows up in an inbox or a channel every day. Long enough to feel familiar, short enough to read in under two minutes.
The before
We flag what's slowing the reader down: buried asks, unclear ownership, tone that reads differently than intended, or information in the wrong order.
The after
The same message, rewritten line by line, with short notes explaining what moved and why it helps the reader respond faster.
The one rule
A single, portable takeaway. Something like "put the ask in the first line" rather than a long list of guidelines to remember.
The optional rep
A short prompt to apply the rule to something already sitting in your drafts folder. Skippable, but it's where the rule actually sticks.
Why five minutes
Long enough to matter, short enough to actually finish
Most writing courses are built around modules, chapters, and homework. That works if writing is something you want to study. It doesn't work if writing is something you want to get through so you can move on to the rest of your inbox.
Five minutes is roughly the length of a coffee break, the gap between two meetings, or the last few minutes before a call starts. A lesson that respects that window gets finished. A lesson that requires forty-five uninterrupted minutes usually gets bookmarked and forgotten.

Slack messages
Short-form writing where tone is easy to misjudge and context is often missing entirely.
Status updates
Recurring reports that need to be scannable, not read start to finish, by someone with six other updates to get through.
Meeting notes
A record that needs to answer "what did we decide" without anyone having to reply-all to ask.
Proposals
Documents meant to move a decision forward, structured so the recommendation is visible before page three.
